Rembrandt Trio

The Rembrandt Trio (formerly known as the Rembrandt Frerichs Trio) was formed some 15 years ago in the jazz capital of the Netherlands, The Hague.

Consisting of three alumni of the Royal Conservatoire, the formation has become one of the most well-known jazz groups in the Netherlands, recorded seven CDs and toured extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East and the Far East.

Although the instrumentation is the standard piano-bass-drums configuration, the trio is known and admired for their extremely wide range of sounds and moods. This is largely due to strong musical influences from the Middle East and European classical music. Their music is often described as cinematic and is packed with the kind of exuberant adventurousness only very strong improvisers can bring.
